We would be grateful if you would request sufficient time when making your appointment. If you have multiple problems to discuss with the doctor or if the appointment is for an insurance or employment medical, your first antenatal visit or your post natal 6 week check, please ask for a double appointment.
Please advise us if you feel that your problem is more urgent than our first available appointment so that we may be able to accommodate your needs.
Home visits will be provided to our regular patients where there is a genuine need. However, many medical and surgical problems can be better treated using the clinic facilities and each request will be assessed accordingly. If you do require a home visit please ring as early as possible.
Patient calls are returned generally at a time suitable to your doctor eg. lunch time or at the end of the day. If your call is urgent, you need to explain the situation to the receptionist who will deal with your call appropriately.
Your doctor will provide telephone advice but the Practice does reserve the right to charge the patient initiated call at the current AMA rate.
You will be required to attend an appointment with your doctor for follow up of your results.
This Practice believes in routine immunisations and recommends that they are carried out. Immunisation is available either through the surgery or the local council.
If you require Sickness or Compensation Certificates, in addition to any original certificates given to you by the doctor you will need to be seen again, unless the doctor has made some prior arrangement. Legally, the doctors cannot write post dated certificates to cover times that they have not seen you.
Recalls & Reminders
This practice routinely sends reminders for smear recalls and advises patients of routine mammography and an increasing number of health issues. These may be sent by SMS or mail.
We provide a range of patient information brochures in our waiting room but if the subject which is of interest to you is not displayed, please ask. We will attempt to obtain the information for you.
Previous medical records
If you would like the practice to obtain a summary of your past medical history from your previous general practitioner please ask at Reception.
We ask that all patients turn their mobile phone off or switch it to silent while in the reception and waiting areas. It may be necessary for the doctor to conclude your consult in the event that you answer your mobile phone in a consultation. Thank you for your understanding.
